Meet the Pastor
Meet Pastor John Hopkins III, Sister Alyson Hopkins and family
John Hopkins III is the son of John and Aurelia Hopkins, missionaries to Central America, and grew up in Panama City, Panama for 19 years.
He attended Florida State University for 2 years. He felt his call to the ministry years before, and after much soul searching, enrolled in Texas Bible College in Houston, Texas. There he met his wife Alyson and the two were married on Dec. 16, 2000.
Alyson is the granddaughter of missionaries Bill and Molly Thompson who founded the work in Colombia, South America. They have two children, John IV and Thomas.
Together they worked in establishing two Spanish works in the city of Houston, before starting a Home Missions church in the city of Webster, Texas, in 2009. During his ministry he served as the Regional Youth President of Spanish Ministries in Houston for three terms and he served as the Regional Sunday School Director for one term. In June of 2011, they moved to Jacksonville, Florida, where they currently pastor.
The Hopkins family loves God and people, and wants nothing more than to see a great revival in the city of Jacksonville. They are expecting great things from the Lord in the years to come.
